PetroQuip was founded in 2001 as a provider of tubular accessories for a very specialized client base, offering all the legwork in primarily tubular accessories. This included the ordering, packaging, shipment and storage of goods either to the rig location or returning after the job.
In 2004, a reinvention of purpose was implemented—to fill the niche market for high-end sliding sleeves for the control of Downhole pressure isolation. They were designed to be used in the most severe conditions and still perform as designed. While other companies’ sleeves were designed to function at only 300° Fahrenheit with a maximum differential capability of just 2,500 PSI and 5,000 PSI, PetroQuip’s new Annular Pressure Control Valves (APCVs) were designed to function at 350° F and consistently unload at a 7,500 PSI differential.
In 2006, expansion dramatically increased; we were granted threading licenses by VAM-USA to thread their VAM-TOP, VAM ACE, NEW VAM and VAM FJL connections and JFE to thread their JFE FOX and JFE BEAR connections.
Recently, PetroQuip also expanded their Downhole Flow Control Division to not only provide mechanical sleeves, but also to offer hydraulic sleeves and tools to better supply customers with solutions to their specific applications.
Certifications
PetroQuip holds certifications in API/ISO Q1. It is certified for API 5CT for the manufacturing and threading of API threads and accessories. PetroQuip also has a certification under the API Specification 14L for the manufacture of pressure profile nipples.
