PetroQuip's MLE (Motor Lead Extension) Clamp is a compact design that protects the MLE as it passes over the ESP. Rolled steel straps and a cast low carbon steel protector form a hybrid system that holds the cable secure without adding bulk. Fully NACE MR0175 compliant, it brings sour service capability to the MLE and complements our NACE compliant ESP Cross Collar Clamp.

  • PROBLEM:

    Most ESP cable failures are mechanical, not random. Clearance issues, clamp deformation, and BOP hang-ups damage cables and force costly pulls, lost production, and unplanned downtime. The MLE runs the tightest clearance in the string as it passes over the ESP, making it the hardest section to protect.

    SOLUTION:

    PetroQuip's MLE Clamp combines rolled steel straps with a cast low carbon steel protector. The straps interlock fully to hold the cable without shearing. The cast protector shields the MLE and fully supports the cable guard, all in a slim OD profile that clears 5.5in 20# casing. An anti-corrosive coating and NACE MR0175 compliance keep the clamp intact in sour service.
