Maximize flow, minimize pump damage.

GasStorm

Maximize flow, minimize pump damage.

GasStorm is PetroQuip’s innovative solution for SRPs that efficiently separates gas from produced fluids by utilizing the large annular space between the tool and casing. Its compact design provides more separation area than competitive products while minimizing overall tool length. Designed for sucker rod pump (SRP) wells with gas interference issues or reduced efficiency.

When combined with PetroQuip’s SandStorm-S, the system provides comprehensive protection by removing sand from the fluid before it reaches the separator, preventing erosion and extending equipment life. GasStorm channels gas up the annulus while allowing produced fluids to be pumped to the surface through the tubing, all with minimal pressure drop even at high flow rates.

    • More separation area than competitive products

    • Utilizes the large annular space between tool and casing for efficient gas separation

    • Compact design with short OAL while maximizing separation efficiency

    • High tensile rating (80,000 lbs)

    • No moving parts for maximum reliability

    • Minimal pressure drop even at high flow rates

    • Can run with or without SandStorm-S for comprehensive SRP protection

    • A portion of proceeds from every unit sold goes to The PetroQuip Foundation.

  • PROBLEM:

Gas interference in sucker rod pump systems costs operators thousands in lost production and premature equipment failure. Gas entering the pump reduces volumetric efficiency and causes operational issues.

    SOLUTION:

PetroQuip's GasStorm efficiently separates gas from produced fluids by utilizing the large annular space between the tool and casing, providing more separation area than competitive products while maintaining minimal pressure drop.

When combined with SandStorm-S, the system first removes sand from produced fluid (minimizing erosion on the GasStorm), then separates gas in the large annular space between the tool and casing. This results in a compact, efficient design that keeps the overall tool length short while maximizing SRP performance.

How it works:

Diagram of an oil well bore with fluid flow, showing produced fluids in green, sand in brown, and gas in blue, illustrating the extraction process.

GasStorm

Separates gas in the large annular space between the tool and casing, resulting in a compact and efficient design.

Removes sand from the produced fluid first, minimizing erosion on the GasStorm.

Competition

Separates the Gas in the small annular area inside the tool, resulting in less efficiency and a longer separator.

Sand flows through the separator before being captured by the desander at the bottom of the tool, causing erosion in the gas separator section.
